Central Florida’s 2009 Capitol Connection Hosts Sunrail Rally
Members of Central Florida’s Capitol Connection today announced its plans for a SunRail Rally to be held in Tallahassee, Florida on Wednesday, March 18 at 11:45 a.m. in front of the Senate Chambers (4th Floor, Capitol). Over 130 members from eight local Chambers of Commerce will be participating and voicing their strong support of commuter rail.

Capitol Connection Ready to Roll Into Tallahassee
The final count is in and nearly 130 members and staff from eight area chambers depart on Tuesday morning, March 17, 2009 and are Tallahassee bound! This Central Florida Coalition consists of the Apopka Area, East Orlando, Hispanic, Orlando Regional, Oviedo-Winter Springs Regional, Seminole County Regional, West Orange and Winter Park Chambers.

Three Community Venues – Still a Priority

I am sure you have read recent news reports about the community venues, including Commissioner Bill Segal's recent proposal regarding a stadium attached to the Convention Center, and have several questions. Clearly our country and community are experiencing one of the more serious economic challenges in decades and the venues financing plan, including a renovation of the Florida Citrus Bowl Stadium, is impacted. Given the current state of the Tourist Development Tax (TDT), both the Arts Center and Citrus Bowl projects will take longer to complete unless revisions to the funding plan are made. That said, doing nothing is not an option that excites any of us.

Count Birdies To Help Babies
