SunRail – Central Florida’s Commuter Rail, is getting a new look!
On January 14, 2009, Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer, Chairman of the Central Florida Commuter Rail Commission, and Florida Department of Transportation District 5 Secretary Noranne Downs will unveil the “official” SunRail logo at the “SunRail Logo Rollout” event, being held at the Hyatt Regency Orlando International Airport.

Central Florida Leaders Depart for Charlotte
On Wednesday, January 14, 137 key leaders of the Central Florida Partnership and members of Leadership Orlando Class 76 will to travel to Charlotte to experience, first-hand, the success of CATS – the Charlotte Area Transit System.  By riding the light rail system now in place there and hearing from key transportation leaders in Charlotte about its positive economic impact, the one-day fact finding mission is expected to bring back a strong message of support for Central Florida Commuter Rail.

Launch Sequence Initiated for Leadership Orlando
Innovation is the name of the game for the “new” Leadership Orlando program. Beginning last fall, we have been exploring new options and new opportunities to connect and engage our participants in the Central Florida Region. And, details are being finalized to take the members of Leadership Orlando Class 77 to NASA’s Space Camp as part of their team building session.

Region’s Leaders Appointed to Federal Reserve Bank
Lynda Weatherman, president and chief executive officer of the Economic Development Commission of Florida’s Space Coast, was appointed to serve on the board of directors of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta’s Jacksonville Branch. Alan Rowe, president and chief executive officer of First Commercial Bank of Florida, was reappointed to serve on the board of directors of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta’s Jacksonville Branch. Their terms began January 1, 2009, and run through December 31, 2011.

Governor Outlines Stimulus Plan for Small Business
